Now available from The Tuners Group are Paddle Shifter and Tilting Quick Release product bundles for the Porsche 986 Boxster Tiptronic.

This bundle includes a Japanese made paddle shifter, a tilting Works Bell Quick Release, and a steering boss / hub for the Porsche 986 Boxster Tiptronic ... all available in a convenient product bundle.

Instead of attaching and detaching the Quick Release like on the Works Bell Rapfix II Quick Release, with the Rapfix GTC the steering wheel simply tilts upwards.

With the Rapfix GTC, you can get in and out with ease from cars equipped with bucket seats or sports type seats by tilting up the steering wheel.

Furthermore, you can work with ease on the dashboard and foot pedal area which was previously unreachable.

It uses Works Bell's patented ball lock system to realize both design appeal and functionality.

Through the application of the patented features of RapFix, and using a ball to join the concave and convex sections, a smooth connection and reduction of chatter are achieved.

The ball lock system Rapfix GTC incorporates powerful high technology in every part.

The Rapfix GTC is machined and assembled with absolute precision by Works Bell's engineers in Works Bell's production facility in Nagano, Japan. It is precision Japanese engineering at it's absolute finest.

It features a glove friendly release handle, making it ideal for use at track days, tarmac rallies, and time attack events.

It potentially has significant time saving advantages in driver change pit stops, particularly in endurance events.

The Works Bell Rapfix GTC Hybrid is 100% made in Japan and is machined and assembled with precision by Works Bell's engineers at Works Bell's production facility in Nagano, Japan.

2 x Works Bell Steering Column Wiring Plates.

Released specifically by Works Bell in response to demand from The Tuners Group's racing customers, the Works Bell Wiring Plate allows the wiring for the Works Bell Paddle Shifter NEO to exit the paddle shifter, be neatly wired round the outside of the tilting mechanism, then to re-enter the assembly before the boss kit / hub.

By using the Works Bell Wiring Plate, wiring can be exited from the internal section of the paddle shifter, then re-enter the assembly before the quick release via a notched cavity in the wiring plates.

This eliminates any need to drill or machine a hole for wiring connections in the body of the Paddle Shifter NEO, for a simple and clean installation.

The Works Bell Wiring Plate is simply sandwiched between the paddle shifter and the quick release, and between the quick release and boss kit / hub.

The Works Bell "U-turn harness" allows the driver to bypass the airbag signal in order to prevent the in-dash airbag warning light flashing or staying on once an aftermarket wheel is installed.

1 x Short Boss Conversion Kit

The short boss conversion kit is a bolt on part that converts the standard length boss included in the paddle shifter kit to a short boss.

The short hub system is designed for use with quick releases.

This short hub system is designed to compensate for the additional length of the Steering Quick Release and helps prevent setting the steering wheel too close to the driver.

With the short hub system, the user is able to offset the position of the steering wheel anywhere from 20mm-30mm (depending on the hub used) AWAY from the driver for optimum driver position.

The kit is designed to be used with aftermarket steering wheels.

It cannot be used with the factory Porsche 986 Boxster Tiptronic Steering Wheel.

At the steering wheel end, the Rapfix GTC and GTC Hybrid ship pre-machined with bolt holes in both standard 6 bolt Momo bolt pattern steering (PCD 70mm), and 6 bolt Nardi bolt pattern (PCD 74mm).

Installation Info

As the Paddle Shifter with quick release bundle is a racing product designed for use in custom racing applications, it is designed to be wired into your car's electrical system by a qualified auto electrical engineer / auto electrician.

Installation should only be carried out by a qualified auto electrical engineer / auto electrician.

The Paddle Shifter kit ships with an application specific plug and play wiring harness, but as this is a racing product designed for custom installations, your installer will need to wire the application specific wiring harness and paddle shifter to the quick release.
